Vertical Barriers

The purpose of a Vertical Barriers is to prevent the ingress of damp and water into subterranean structures such as basements, cellars, tunnels and earth shielded buildings

The vertical barriers involving the insertion of a HDPE geomembrane thickness of 2.0 – 2.5 mm. maintained in a trench filled with self-curing mud whose function is twofold:

They ensure the stability of the walls during the excavation.
They contribute to hardening, the formation of a layer composite natural / mud artificiale.Il self-curing is generally made up of a mixture of water, cement and bentonite. For inserzion of HDPE geomembrane are used in the excavation of a frame or a roller. The geomembrane is formed from HDPE panels connected together by mechanical joints type Interlock.

The Joint Interlock creates a maze filled with bentonite slurry, which ensures an average waterproof geomembrane of less than 10 ¯ 8 cm. / Sec.

Waterproofing Resins

The resins are suitable for waterproofing roofs to flat roofs, sheds, terraces, retaining walls. Their main feature is the maximum flexibility of use.

Being also perfectly suitable to fill gaps, the resins solve definitively the problem of infiltration both in the case of porous materials such as beton, and in all those cases in which the joints are subject, in the course of time, to be practiced openings.

The Syntetic Waterproofing Covering of The Future

The TPO membranes and synthetic membranes (polyolefins alloys: polyethylene and polypropylene) are the answer to changing market of waterproofing.

Due to their high resistance to aging, the TPO waterproofing membranes are primarily used for waterproofing of reservoirs, dams, and non-toxic version, used in the protection of the containment tanks for drinking water and liquid foods, as well as fish farms.

They are industrial products with quality more controllable. To color them is optional and they offer, depending on the kind, high chemical stability, almost always high deformability, even in cold : they are more durable, does not require a pose in the double layer and the quality of the process of welding them is more easily to control. Someone is self-adhesive .

Benefits

The synthetic TPO waterproofing material is currently used with success in all areas of the roofing industry and civil engineering. In particular, in the roofing industry, using membranes with internal reinforcement in polyester mesh for exposed roofing membranes and mechanically fastened with internal reinforcement glass fiber roofing finish ballasting to fixed or mobile. This armor is also provided for the waterproof coating TPO glued directly to the support but , in this case , during the production phase we proceed to the coupling of a non-woven felt on the lower face of the product to improve the adhesion characteristics.

Can be distinguished two types of products :

The modified polyolefins based polypropylene and polyethylene -based modified polyolefins

A) The modified polyolefins polypropylene -based

Are products that have a certain stiffness ( when compared to those of PVC -P ) but which possess a good resistance to temperature variations , have good tensile strength , high characteristics of flexibility and a life expectancy in work more than 25 years

B) The modified polyolefins polyethylene -based

In this case the product is modified with polymers with low melting point, are more flexible than those which use only polyethylene, but are more sensitive to high temperatures.

The mechanical properties are very good in terms of elongation at break, but less satisfactory speaking of tensile strength.

In the waterproofing of the fund water projects and underground instead are mainly used homogeneous surfaces , that is without the use of any type of armor inside the body of the product. This allows the best use of the characteristic of high elongation at break of their own synthetic turf, so able to ” accommodate ” any rough edges present in the soil in reservoirs and hydraulic basins without incurring breakage that would affect a complete waterproofing and storage capacity of water.

The same feature also becomes crucial in the case of so-called “out of shape” in tunnels, especially in the presence of water under pressure would solicit from behind the waterproofing system of the building, leading to the inevitable breakage that would be capable of compromising the whole waterproofing .

Polyurea

Polyurea

The Polyurea is an elastometric waterproofing membrane obtained by polyaddition (nucleophilic addition Ties = Pi-bonds greek removed by the formation of new covalent bonds) with aliphatic isocyanate addition of step_growth polymerization. The polymerization reaction is similar to that which leads to the formation of polyurethanes, in fact the Polyurea is a polyurethane terminated with amines, the latter accelerates the socket during the application (approx 5-15 sec.).

It has the advantage of having 0 shares volatile and thus the maximum respect for the environment, excellent tensile strength, flexibility and high abrasion resistance to high temperatures (30 ° -80 °). This is the reason for which the Polyurea is insensitive to water and moisture is given by the fact that the reaction between the two components “A” = iso and “B” = polyol (Polyammina) is so fast that the time does not give moisture to react.

EPDM

EPDM is an inert material with limited environmental impact during production both during production that the installation and operation. To reduce the emission of volatile substances during installation are used together with the membrane (Cleaners, Primers, Adhesives).

The analyzes carried out in workroom have shown that these membranes do not release toxic substances but allow the collection and use of rainwater for domestic use and also at the end of his service, can be recycled and reused in roofing asphalt road.

Expansion Joints

The expansion joint and continuity waterproof connecs decks and allows movement of the same.

It consists of rubber elements with variable size and shape depending on the specific excursion, the elements are connected to each other with male / female elements and are anchored to the structure with pull-chemical funds. The deformable elements are vulcanised rubber to metal armor anchor made of rolled steel and entirely united together in the rubber at the time of molding.

These nourish the deformations and displacements of the structures between (0 ° and 90 °), by means of deformation and cutting of rubber parts.

HD.PE Geomembrane

The HD.PE sheets are exclusively produced with high density polyethylene (HDPE) quality made ”ad hoc”.

They have excellent chemical resistance, mechanical properties, environmental stress cracking and dimensional stability, polymer containing 97.5% pure, black smoke ≥ 2.0% stabilizers and antioxidants that allows high resistance to UV radiation and exceptional durability in the solar light.
